1. Go to “Settings”

2. Login using your Apple ID security credentials
3. Search for specific purchases or view everything in chronological order.

Using a browser to connect to the official Apple website, you can also check the status of claims, refunds and more. If you are having issues finding a purchase, make sure you are logging into the website using the Apple ID you used when buying the item. As it will only show the items associated with each ID. How to reset the NVRAM, PRAM, and SMC on your Mac

Sometimes it was necessary to carry out a little maintenance on your Apple MacBook or iMac computers if you feel they are not quite running as well as they could. One method on older Macs was to carry out a reset. If you own one of the latest Apple MacBook computers powered by the new M1 processors. You no longer need to carry out a reset of the NVRAM, PRAM, and SMC as you needed to do on older Mac computers.

This quick guide will take you through resetting each one individually, allowing you to troubleshoot any issues you may experience on your Mac computer, such as when booting the computer after an update or application issue. PRAM or NVRAM are normally related to software issues requiring the computer to refresh its parameter random access memory (PRAM) or non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM).

To reset the Mac NVRAM and PRAM

It is worth noting before resetting your NVRAM or PRAM that some settings may be reset to their defaults, such as volume, mouse settings, keyboard preferences and volume levels. Although nothing major will be changed during the process.

1. Shutdown your Mac computer

2. Press the power button to turn your Mac back on.

3. Immediately hold down the following keys on your keyboard “Command + Option + P + R” altogether at the same time.

4. Keep holding the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the start-up time once again. Or you see the Apple logo on Macs equipped with the T2 Security Chip.

5. Once you have gone through the cycle, let go of all the keys on the keyboard and allow your Apple computer to continue as normal.

Reset the SMC

The system management controller (SMC) on your Mac looks after running the hardware components in your machine and sometimes needs to be reset if you discover issues with your keyboard, cooling fans, power buttons and other physical items related to your Mac computer.

To reset the SMC on your MacBook equipped with a T2 Security Chip. Systems made between 2018 and 2020.

1. Shutdown your MacBook

2. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds and then restart your MacBook

3. As the issue fixed?

4. If not, hold down the “Right Shift Key + Left Option Key + Left Control Key” together for approximately 7 seconds.

5. Release all the keys together simultaneously and wait a few seconds before restarting your computer.

Old MacBooks laptops with removable batteries

To reset the SMC on older pre 2018 Mac computers that have removable batteries. Shutdown your Mac, remove its battery, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, replace the battery into your computer and power up your MacBook once again.

Mac desktop and Mini computer resets with T2 Chips and older. Personally, I find removing the power cord is the most effective way to reset the SMC chip.

1. Power off your Mac

2. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds and then restart your computer

3. Has a problem been solved?

4. If not unplug the power cord from the back of your Mac computer

5. Wait 30 seconds before reconnecting the power cord and waiting a further 10 seconds

6. Turn on your Mac as normal

How to format SD cards on Mac

Storage cards I used for a wealth of different applications from cameras to mini PCs, offering an affordable storage solution available in a wide variety of different capacities. SD cards offer a convenient way to store and transport data, photographs, media and documents, as well as quickly load different operating systems onto a variety of different systems from the Raspberry Pi, Arduino to Linux on PCs.

This quick guide will show you how to format an SD card using a Mac desktop or laptop computer. Using an SD card reader, the small storage cards can be read using a spare USB port or through a hub. Apple have also included SD card slots in their new range of MacBook Pro laptops this year making it even easier to access photographs and video from your camera’s or format the SD cards for other applications.

How to format SD card on Mac

You may need to format an SD card or micro SD card for several reasons on your Mac, whether it be for your smartphone, Raspberry Pi mini PC, Arduino project, digital camera or games console. Preparing a card for use using your Mac computer is extremely easy. But there are a few options to be aware of when formatting an SD card for the first time on Mac. Also, don’t forget formatting the SD or micro SD card will delete all the data on your SD card or micro SD card, so be careful to back up any data you may want to keep before formatting your SD card.

Correct format to choose

On our Mac computer will use the “Disk Utility” application provided by Apple on all Mac’s formatting our SDcard. If you have an iMac or older MacBook laptop, you may already have an integrated SD card slot which you can use to easily read and write to your card. If you have a modern MacBook or MacBook Air without an SD card slot, you will need an SD card USB-C adapter which you can slot into a spare USB-C port. To format the smaller form factor microSD cards, you will also need an SD card sized adapter into which you will slot the smaller microSD into as in the image below.

Once you have your card inserted into your Mac computer, either directly or via an SD card adapter, press the ‘Command’ and ‘Space’ button on your Mac keyboard to open a “Spotlight search” and type “Disk Utility” to locate and launch the application, as in the image above.

Using Disk Utility

On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility application, you will see your drives listed. Be careful to select the correct drive for the SD card you are formatting. A quick check can be carried out by simply removing the memory card and reinserting to see which drive disappears and reappears as your Mac read the card. Right clicking on your chosen SD card drive will provide a list of options with ‘Erase’ listed at the bottom. ‘Erase’ is the option we will select to format our SD card on Mac.

A pop-up box will then appear allowing you to rename the SD card, keep it simple and don’t use any strange keyboard characters as some operating systems run into problems reading special character used when naming SD Card names, just stick to alphanumeric characters and you will be fine.

When formatting a card, you are presented with four ‘Format’ options on a Mac : MacOS Extended (Journaled), Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled), MS-DOS (FAT) and ExFAT. If you are going to use the formatted SD card ONLY on computers running Apples macOS, then the OS Extended formats are the choice for you. The only difference between the two is the ‘Case-sensitive’ option, which takes into consideration capitalization, so ABC and abc are considered being different names in the case-sensitive option. In the MacOS Extended (Journaled) format, which isn’t case sensitive, they are considered being the same.

If you are going to use your SD card in a digital camera, Windows PC, Android smartphone or Raspberry Pi mini PC for example and the SD card capacity is larger than 64 GB and you are formatting the SD card on a Mac system running a modern operating system version of macOS : Apple Lion macOS and above you will use the ExFAT option. For older Macs and smaller sizes of SD card use the MS-DOS (FAT32) option.

Quick format summary :

Name your SD card
Select your desired Format Type : General purpose ExFAT – Only Mac computers : MacOS Extended (Journaled)
Press the “Erase” button
Wait for the SD card format on Mac to complete

If you do not already have an account with Spotify, you can set up a free one. The free version gives you access to the majority of the content on Spotify; adverts support this.

The web-based version of Spotify works precisely like the app and desktop versions of the software, and you can see your Library, Playlists, Liked Songs, and more. You can also use the web version to create new playlists and more. It is the same as the app version, just in a handy format in a web browser.

Apple allows you to make purchases using Apple Pay, and send money to someone using the Messages application making it easy to transfer funds to family and friends. Apple has also made it possible for you to transfer money from Apple Cash directly to your bank account and you can use the Instant Transfer feature to make payments and receive daily cash from Apple Card purchases.

One good reason to use the service to send, receive, or request money on Apple devices is that there is no fee, although as explained above there are fees associated with transferring money using other cards such as Mastercard. To record a call make or receive the telephone call and then you will see a Record button on your display during the calls, press the Record button and it will start recording the telephone call. You can stop recording the call by selecting Stop Recording.

To listen to a telephone call that you have recorded n your device open the Phone app and then select Recents, select the number of the recent call that you made or received, the recording will be shown and you can select Play to listen to the call on your handset.

How do I reset the passcode from the Watch App on the iPhone?

To reset the passcode on your Apple Watch from the Watch App on your iPhone, you need to open the app on your iPhone.

You then need to select the My Watch menu at the bottom and then select General and then Reset, you then select Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings and then click it again to confirm.

You will then be asked to enter your Apple ID password and the device will reset, once it has been reset you can restore the Apple Watch from backup.

Once your device has been reset and restored from the backup, you will be able to select a new passcode for your Apple Watch.

How do I reset the passcode direct on the Apple Watch?

There is also another way to reset your Apple Watch using the device. To do this place the Apple Watch on its charger and then press the side button until you see the Power Off menu appear.

Now press the digital crown on the Apple Watch until you see the Erase all content and Settings menu appears, now select Reset and then confirm you wish to reset your device. It will now reset and you will be given the option to Restore from a backup.

Now that your Apple Watch has been reset and restored to its original state, you will be able to select a new passcode for your Apple Watch.
